New Delhi [India]: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Maharashtra and Chhattisgarh on Sunday to attend multiple events and launch a series of key development projects aimed at infrastructure, power, education, and defense.
Maharashtra Visit
PM Modi’s visit will begin in Nagpur at 9 AM, where he will visit Smruti Mandir and Deekshabhoomi, paying homage to Dr. B.R. Ambedkar and the founding fathers of the RSS.
At 10 AM, he will lay the foundation stone for Madhav Netralaya Premium Centre, an extension of the Madhav Netralaya Eye Institute & Research Centre, a leading ophthalmic care facility established in 2014.
Later, at 12:30 PM, the Prime Minister will inaugurate a Loitering Munition Testing Range and UAV Runway facility at Solar Defence and Aerospace Limited in Nagpur. This facility will be used for testing guided munitions and other defense technology.
Chhattisgarh Visit – Major Development Projects
PM Modi will travel to Bilaspur, Chhattisgarh, where he will lay the foundation stone and dedicate projects worth over ₹33,700 crore across key sectors like power, oil & gas, rail, road, education, and housing.
Key Projects in Chhattisgarh:
- NTPC Sipat Super Thermal Power Project Stage-III (1x800MW) – Worth ₹9,790 crore, to enhance power generation.
- Three Power Transmission projects under POWERGRID – Worth ₹560 crore, aimed at improving electricity infrastructure.
- City Gas Distribution (CGD) Project by BPCL in Korea, Surajpur, Balrampur, and Surguja districts.
- Visakh-Raipur Pipeline (VRPL) Project by HPCL – A 540 km pipeline worth ₹2,210 crore to improve fuel supply.
- Flagging off the MEMU train service on the Abhanpur-Raipur section via Mandir Hasaud.
- 100% electrification of the rail network in Chhattisgarh.
- Upgrading the Kondagaon-Narayanpur section of NH-130D (47.5 km) to two lanes with a paved shoulder.
- 130 PM SHRI Schools across 29 districts and Vidya Samiksha Kendra (VSK) at Raipur, boosting education infrastructure.
PM Modi will address public gatherings in Nagpur and Bilaspur, emphasizing the government’s commitment to nationwide development and infrastructure enhancement.
