According to official sources in New Delhi, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will soon visit several northern Indian states that have been hit by floods. The visit comes after nonstop monsoon rains have caused a lot of damage to buildings, roads, and other infrastructure in the area, and sadly, hundreds of people have died.
The monsoon’s ferocity has been especially bad in states like Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, and Punjab. There have been landslides, flash floods, and buildings falling down in these places, leaving thousands of people stuck and in desperate need of help.
The purpose of Prime Minister Modi’s visit is to see for himself how bad things are on the ground. The tour is also important since several state governments are asking the Centre for a lot of money to help them deal with the huge scope of the crisis. The Union Home Ministry has already sent teams from several ministries to look at the damage and has been in touch with state officials all the time. The Prime Minister’s direct involvement is expected to add new attention and energy to the current relief and rescue efforts.
The move comes after a lot of rain and floods that has destroyed a large area. Reports say that more than 500 people have died in the states that were affected. The National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), the Army, and the Air Force are all working together to help with rescue and relief efforts.
The Prime Minister’s visit is seen as a key step in coordinating a quick and efficient response to support the areas who have been hit hardest by one of the worst monsoon seasons in recent history.
