PM Modi To Inaugurate Grameen Bharat Mahotsav 2025, Unveils Key Development Projects

New Delhi [India]: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the Grameen Bharat Mahotsav 2025 on Saturday morning at Bharat Mandapam. Celebrating the entrepreneurial spirit and cultural heritage of rural India, the Mahotsav will run from January 4 to January 9 under the theme “Building a Resilient Rural India for a Viksit Bharat 2047.”

The event aims to strengthen rural infrastructure, foster self-reliant economies, and inspire innovation within rural communities. Key goals include promoting financial stability, economic security, and sustainable agricultural practices, with a special emphasis on North-East India.

A significant focus will be on empowering rural women through entrepreneurship. The Mahotsav will also bring together government officials, thought leaders, rural entrepreneurs, artisans, and other stakeholders to collaborate on strategies for transformative rural development. Discussions will explore the use of technology and innovative practices to improve rural livelihoods while showcasing India’s rich cultural heritage through vibrant performances and exhibitions.

On Friday, Prime Minister Modi inaugurated 1,675 newly constructed flats for residents of Jhuggi Jhopri (JJ) clusters at Swabhiman Apartments, Ashok Vihar. He personally handed over keys to eligible beneficiaries and inspected the flats constructed under the In-Situ Slum Rehabilitation Project.

The project aims to provide residents with a healthier living environment equipped with modern amenities. According to a government release, each flat, built at a cost of Rs 25 lakh, requires beneficiaries to contribute a nominal amount of Rs 1.42 lakh, with an additional Rs 30,000 for five years of maintenance.

Additionally, PM Modi virtually inaugurated two major urban redevelopment projects: the World Trade Centre at Nauroji Nagar and GPRA Type-II Quarters at Sarojini Nagar. He also launched the CBSE Integrated Office Complex in Dwarka and laid the foundation stone for the Veer Savarkar College in Roshanpura, Najafgarh.

These initiatives underscore the government’s commitment to fostering inclusive growth by uplifting urban and rural communities alike.
