On Tuesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to visit Rajasthan to participate in the ‘Ek Varsh-Parinaam Utkarsh’ programme, marking the completion of one year of the state’s government. The event will see the inauguration and foundation laying of 24 major projects worth over Rs 46,300 crore, spanning sectors such as energy, roads, railways, and water.
According to the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO), PM Modi will inaugurate nine projects totaling over Rs 11,000 crore, including seven central government and two state government projects. Additionally, the Prime Minister will lay the foundation for 15 projects worth over Rs 35,300 crore, comprising nine central government and six state government projects.
The inaugurations during the event include crucial infrastructure and development initiatives aimed at enhancing connectivity and fulfilling the energy needs of the state in line with the Prime Minister’s vision of green energy. Key inaugurated projects include:
- Navnera Barrage
- Smart Electricity Transmission Network and Asset Management System
- Railway Electrification of the Bhildi-Samdari-Luni-Jodhpur-Merta Road-Degana-Ratangarh section
- Delhi-Vadodara Green Field Alignment (NH-148N), which involves a major bridge over the Mej River.
These projects aim to improve transport, water management, and energy supply, ensuring easier commutes and better sustainability for the people of Rajasthan.
PM Modi will also lay the foundation stone for the construction of two significant water management projects:
- Ramgarh Barrage
- Mahalpur Barrage The projects include systems for transferring water from the Navnera Barrage to the Bisalpur Dam and Isarda Dam via an aqueduct on the Chambal River, with an estimated cost of Rs 9,400 crore.
In the renewable energy sector, PM Modi will lay the foundation for the installation of rooftop solar plants on government buildings, along with a 2000 MW solar park and two phases of 1000 MW solar parks in Poogal (Bikaner).
Further, drinking water transmission lines will be developed from Saipau (Dholpur) to Bharatpur-Deeg-Kumher-Nagar-Kaman-Pahari and Chambal-Dholpur-Bharatpur. The ceremony will also see the commencement of railway projects such as the Luni-Samdari-Bhildi Double Line, Ajmer-Chanderiya Double Line, and Jaipur-Sawai Madhopur Double Line, aimed at improving railway infrastructure across the state.
These projects are part of the broader development efforts to enhance the infrastructure, energy sustainability, and water resources management in Rajasthan, thereby contributing to the state’s economic growth and improving the quality of life for its residents.
