Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh) [India], May 21: Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav on Wednesday inspected preparations at the Jamboree Ground in Bhopal ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s scheduled visit to address the ‘Women Empowerment Maha Sammelan’ on May 31, marking a significant tribute to Devi Ahilyabai Holkar’s 300th birth anniversary.
Speaking to the media, CM Yadav stated,
“A new record will be created here in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi… On the occasion of the 300th birth anniversary of Devi Ahilyabai Holkar, the Centre and the Madhya Pradesh government have together launched a year-long ‘Ahilya Utsav’.”
The mega convention is expected to see the participation of nearly 2 lakh women from across the state, representing a wide spectrum including women entrepreneurs, self-help groups, employees, and beneficiaries of the Ladli Behna scheme.
Yadav emphasized the importance of women empowerment in the vision of PM Modi:
“Devi Ahilyabai made extraordinary contributions across various sectors, especially in uplifting women. PM Modi dreams of making every woman a lakhpati. This Sammelan is dedicated to all women of the state.”

The event will not only celebrate the legacy of Ahilyabai Holkar but also serve as a platform to showcase the strides being made in empowering women—from street vendors to small and large-scale industries.
