PM Modi Slams Opposition Over Harsh Laws Against Sanitation Workers In Delhi

On Saturday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi sharply chastised the Opposition. He also added that the Delhi Municipal Act said that sanitation workers may go to jail if they didn’t show up for work without warning. The Prime Minister branded the law “draconian” and said that his political enemies were lying when he was working on two big highway projects.

“There was a law that said my safai mitras could go to jail if they didn’t come to work.” PM Modi said, “These are the kinds of strict laws they made and followed.” He claimed that his government is committed to getting rid of laws like this. He stated, “Modi is the one who is trying to get rid of laws like these.”

There was a political fight going on about fairness in the economy and the Constitution as the Prime Minister was speaking. He started his attack by saying that the other party wasn’t obeying the Constitution, which they say they are.

“People who dance with the Constitution over their heads don’t care about it.” “That’s how they used to make Baba Saheb Ambedkar feel bad,” he remarked.

The comments were made at the beginning of the Dwarka Expressway and the Urban Extension Road-II (UER-II) in Delhi. The Prime Minister took the chance to attack the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and the Congress for what he called the “ruination” of the capital city.

He also said that he believed in the new BJP government in Delhi, which is led by Rekha Gupta. “I know that the BJP’s new government is having a hard time with all the problems that have been getting worse in Delhi.” “But I know that the team you chose in Delhi will work hard to fix the city’s problems that have been going on for decades,” he said.

At the time this essay was written, neither the AAP nor the Congress had said anything specifically in response to what the Prime Minister said about the old law.
