PM Modi Slams Congress-RJD Over ‘Bidi-Bihar’ Remark, Vows State Will Give a ‘Befitting Reply’

Purnea, Bihar – Prime Minister Narendra Modi, speaking in Purnea on Monday, launched a blistering attack on the Congress and RJD’s Mahagathbandhan bloc, calling their recent actions a “sheer insult” to the state of Bihar. The Prime Minister’s remarks were in reference to a now-deleted social media post by the Kerala unit of the Congress, which drew a link between “Bihar with bidis.”

The post, which was a political jibe aimed at the recent GST rationalization, has been widely condemned. During his address, PM Modi stated, “Whenever Bihar moves forward, these people get busy insulting Bihar. You must have seen that RJD’s ally, the Congress Party, is comparing Bihar to a beedi on social media. These people hate Bihar so much.”

He further accused the opposition alliance of causing significant damage to Bihar’s reputation through “scams and corruption.” The Prime Minister vowed that the people of Bihar would deliver a “befitting reply” to the Congress and its allies in the upcoming assembly elections, scheduled for October and November.

PM Modi also criticized the RJD and Congress for what he described as years of “misgovernance” during their rule, which he said had severely hampered the state’s progress. “Bihar had suffered a lot due to misgovernance by the RJD and the Congress. They can’t digest the state’s development. Mothers and sisters will give the opposition a befitting reply in the polls,” he asserted.

Additionally, the Prime Minister slammed the opposition parties for allegedly “patronising infiltrators” in the state, stating that the NDA government would work to drive them out.
