New Delhi [India], June 18: After a telephonic conversation between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and US President Donald Trump on the sidelines of the G7 Summit in Canada, BJP MP Tejasvi Surya reiterated that India firmly rejects any external mediation, especially regarding Kashmir and its relations with Pakistan.
Surya said PM Modi “made it clear to the world” that India’s political consensus across all parties opposes outside involvement:
“This is India’s internal matter because every inch of Kashmir belongs to Bharat…“
He also contrasted India’s counter-terror operation with Pakistan’s recent actions, referencing the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack that killed 25 people.
“India killed terrorists; Pakistan killed innocent tourists. There is no equivalence between the two.“
Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri added that Modi used the conversation to clarify that Operation Sindoor was strictly India’s initiative and that no discussions on trade deals or mediation occurred.
“At no time were trade or mediation topics discussed. The ceasefire was coordinated directly between the two armies at Pakistan’s request,” Misri said.
The response comes amid repeated claims by President Trump suggesting the US played a role in de-escalating tensions between India and Pakistan by using trade as leverage—claims now publicly denied by New Delhi.
