New Delhi [India], March 2: Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended his warm wishes to the nation as the holy month of Ramzan began on Sunday.
In a post on X, PM Modi said, “As the blessed month of Ramzan begins, may it bring peace and harmony in our society. This sacred month epitomises reflection, gratitude, and devotion, also reminding us of the values of compassion, kindness, and service. Ramzan Mubarak!”
Opposition Leader in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, also extended his Ramzan greetings. On Saturday night, he took to X to wish the nation, saying, “Ramzan Mubarak! May this sacred month fill your life with happiness and bring peace to your heart.”
Congress MP Priyanka Gandhi Vadra too conveyed her wishes, writing on X, “Hearty congratulations to all of you on the holy month of mercy and blessings, Ramadan. I pray to God that this holy month brings happiness, prosperity, and peace in the lives of all of you.”
In Jammu and Kashmir, Chief Minister Omar Abdullah convened a meeting with officials to ensure smooth services during Ramzan. “The holy month of Ramzan is starting. It is the responsibility of the government to provide facilities to the people. In this connection, a meeting was held today during which a review was taken of every department,” Omar Abdullah said. He specifically instructed officials to ensure the proper supply of electricity, water, ration, sanitation, and traffic management, especially during Sehri and Iftaar timings.
The month of Ramzan, a sacred period of fasting from dawn until sunset, began on March 2 and will culminate with Eid-Ul-Fitr.
