In a wide-ranging interview with Arab Times, Prime Minister Narendra Modi lauded Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman as a visionary leader and a key proponent of India-Saudi Arabia strategic ties, praising his transformative leadership under Vision 2030 and his warm engagement with the Indian diaspora.
“His insights, forward-thinking vision, and passion for his people are truly remarkable,” PM Modi said. “Under his leadership, Saudi Arabia has undergone tremendous social and economic transformation that has inspired the world.”
Bilateral Bonds and Diaspora Admiration
Calling Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman a “strong advocate of bilateral ties,” Modi emphasized their personal rapport and growing trust. He highlighted how this closeness has translated into concrete cooperation, particularly in energy, infrastructure, and strategic sectors.
“He has been a great supporter of the Indian diaspora in Saudi Arabia, and our people deeply admire him,” the PM added.
India Welcomes Saudi Global Achievements
PM Modi extended congratulations to Saudi Arabia for winning bids to host the World Expo 2030 and the FIFA World Cup 2034, calling them “a matter of immense pride.”
“These events not only boost the Saudi economy but also open avenues for Indian companies in infrastructure, technology, and services,” he noted.
Economic Partnership: From Oil to Green Energy
The Prime Minister reaffirmed Saudi Arabia’s role as a reliable energy partner, stating that both nations are expanding cooperation in joint refinery and petrochemical projects.
“India’s journey toward becoming a developed nation will see growing energy needs. Saudi Arabia will remain a key part of our energy security,” he said.
He also underlined emerging collaboration in renewable energy, including green hydrogen, circular economy, and supply chains, with both nations actively working under frameworks like the International Solar Alliance.
IMEEC: A Game-Changer for Connectivity
On the India-Middle East-Europe Economic Corridor (IMEEC)—unveiled at the G20 Summit—PM Modi said the project will serve as a “new Silk Route of the 21st century,” aiming to redefine global connectivity.
“It will improve digital and physical links, generate jobs, cut greenhouse gases, and bring transformational integration between Asia, the Middle East, and Europe,” he said.
Invitation for Deeper Investment
PM Modi urged Saudi companies to invest in India’s growth sectors as part of the Viksit Bharat journey.
“From next-gen infrastructure to the blue economy, Indian and Saudi firms can foster two-way collaborations that strengthen our economic ties,” the Prime Minister asserted.
This interview paints a clear picture of deepening Indo-Saudi ties, with strategic collaboration spanning traditional and future-facing sectors—from oil and infrastructure to clean energy and global connectivity.
