Union Minister Kiren Rijiju also extended his greetings in Urdu, sharing a heartfelt message:
“Happy Eid al-Adha! Heartfelt congratulations to all Muslim brothers and sisters on the occasion of Eid al-Adha.”

Earlier in the day, Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge posted his wishes, emphasizing the importance of sacrifice, trust, and unity in building a peaceful society.
“Eid al-Adha celebrates the noble values of selfless sacrifice, trust, and forgiveness. As we celebrate this joyous occasion, may we all unite to foster stronger fraternity and work towards a peaceful, harmonious, and just society. Eid Mubarak!”

Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra joined in with her message of love and brotherhood.
“Eid al-Adha Mubarak to all! On this joyous occasion, may love, peace, and prosperity fill every home. Wishing everyone happiness, blessings, and a spirit of brotherhood.”

Across the country, the spirit of Eid was visible early in the morning as people gathered in mosques and dargahs to offer prayers. In Mumbai, devotees offered Namaz at Jama Masjid Mahim Dargah, while in Delhi, large crowds turned up at Jama Masjid at dawn.

The air resounded with chants of “Eid Mubarak,” as families embraced and celebrated the values of compassion and sacrifice that the festival signifies.

Eid al-Adha, also known as Bakr-Id in the Indian subcontinent, is marked by the symbolic sacrifice of a goat or ‘bakri’ in memory of Prophet Ibrahim’s devotion. Celebrated with joy and devotion, it continues to bring people together in a spirit of faith and community.
