PM Modi Pays Tribute To Dr. BR Ambedkar On Birth Anniversary, Launches Development Projects In Haryana

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday paid heartfelt tribute to Dr. BR Ambedkar on his birth anniversary, emphasizing his lasting influence on India’s commitment to social justice. The Prime Minister highlighted that Ambedkar’s ideals continue to inspire the nation on its journey toward becoming self-reliant and developed.

In a post on X, PM Modi wrote:
“On behalf of all the countrymen, I bow down to Bharat Ratna Pujya Babasaheb on his birth anniversary. It is due to his inspiration that the country is dedicatedly engaged in realizing the dream of social justice today. His principles and ideals will give strength and momentum to the creation of an ‘Atmnirbhar’ and ‘Viksit’ India.”

As part of the celebrations on Ambedkar Jayanti, the Prime Minister is scheduled to launch several development projects in Haryana. According to the Prime Minister’s Office, Modi will travel to Hisar, where, at around 10:15 AM, he will flag off a commercial flight from Hisar to Ayodhya and lay the foundation stone of the new terminal building. He is also expected to address a public meeting in Hisar.

Later in the day, around 12:30 PM, the Prime Minister will inaugurate and lay the foundation stone for various development projects in Yamuna Nagar and will again address the public.

Ambedkar Jayanti is a public holiday in India, during which schools, banks, and several public sector organisations remain closed. Citizens across the country pay tribute to Dr. Ambedkar by offering flowers, lighting candles, and organising cultural programs.

Fondly known as ‘Babasaheb’, Dr. BR Ambedkar was the chief architect of the Indian Constitution and is often referred to as the ‘Father of the Indian Constitution’. He was also the first Law and Justice Minister of Independent India.

Born into a poor Dalit Mahar family in Madhya Pradesh, Ambedkar rose to become a powerful voice for the marginalised and worked tirelessly to eradicate untouchability. Since 1927, he was at the forefront of movements advocating for Dalit rights, and he remains a symbol of social justice and equality.
