New Delhi [India]: As the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) launches its nationwide Tiranga Yatra to highlight the bravery of the Indian Armed Forces during Operation Sindoor, Chief Ministers and senior leaders from NDA-ruled states are expected to arrive in the national capital next week. They will be briefed on the precision strikes carried out in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoJK) following the Pahalgam terror attack, sources confirmed.
The government had earlier declared that the perpetrators of the Pahalgam attack, which left 26 dead, would face severe punishment.
Sources indicate that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will meet with NDA leaders on May 25 to convey a strong message of national security and strategic unity.
“A meeting has been convened to brief the leaders about India’s strike on terror camps in Pakistan, Operation Sindoor and understanding on cessation of hostilities. All the Chief Ministers and Deputy Chief Ministers have been invited for the meeting. This will give a strong message in terms of national security,” the source said.
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister and TDP leader N Chandrababu Naidu praised the Prime Minister’s recent address to the nation, calling it a pivotal moment in shaping India’s security doctrine.
“His address was a stern warning to Pakistan-sponsored terrorists and a clear message of strength to the world. It’s Buddha Purnima today, and we remember the path to peace. But, as history teaches us, lasting peace is secured through strength. We walk the path to peace, but we also practice Zero Tolerance towards terrorism,” Naidu posted on X.
The Tiranga Yatra, launched by the BJP on May 13, is intended to honour the valour of Indian soldiers and inform citizens about the success of Operation Sindoor. The yatra will continue until May 23, featuring widespread public engagement.
In Delhi, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, BJP General Secretary Tarun Chugh, Delhi BJP Chief Virendra Sachdeva, and other senior leaders and workers participated in the march.
According to party insiders, the Yatra is being led in different regions by ex-servicemen, social workers, and public figures to promote patriotism, unity, and national pride. The BJP intends to expand the Yatra beyond a party initiative into a national people’s movement.
To support the campaign, BJP President JP Nadda held a high-level strategy meeting on May 12 with party general secretaries at the BJP headquarters.
The party has also planned nationwide press conferences and will engage with social media influencers to digitally boost the campaign, especially among younger audiences.
Operation Sindoor, launched on May 7, was India’s military response to the April 22 terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir. The operation resulted in the elimination of over 100 terrorists and included airstrikes on Pakistani airbases. Indian Armed Forces also successfully repelled Pakistani aggression.
Through the Tiranga Yatra, the BJP aims to reaffirm India’s zero-tolerance policy on terrorism and foster a stronger sense of national unity and pride across the country.
