Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone for various development projects worth over ₹2 lakh crore in Andhra Pradesh, marking a significant boost to the state’s infrastructure and economy.
NTPC Green Hydrogen Hub
PM Modi laid the foundation stone for NTPC Green Energy Limited’s Green Hydrogen Hub at Pudimadaka near Visakhapatnam. The ₹1,85,000 crore project is the first of its kind under the National Green Hydrogen Mission. It will feature 20 GW renewable energy capacities and produce 1,500 TPD Green Hydrogen and 7,500 TPD Green Hydrogen derivatives, such as Green Methanol, Green Urea, and Sustainable Aviation Fuel. Primarily targeting exports, the hub will contribute significantly to India’s goal of achieving 500 GW non-fossil energy capacity by 2030.
Railway and Road Infrastructure
The Prime Minister also laid the foundation stone for railway and road projects worth over ₹19,500 crore. This includes the South Coast Railway Headquarters in Visakhapatnam. These initiatives aim to reduce congestion, enhance connectivity, and foster regional economic growth.
Bulk Drug Park
In Nakkapalli, Anakapalli district, PM Modi initiated the Bulk Drug Park, which promises to create thousands of jobs and spur economic development due to its strategic location near the Visakhapatnam-Chennai Industrial Corridor (VCIC) and the Visakhapatnam-Kakinada Petroleum, Chemical, and Petrochemical Investment Region.
Krishnapatnam Industrial Area (KRIS City)
The Prime Minister also laid the foundation for the Krishnapatnam Industrial Area (KRIS City) in Tirupati district under the Chennai-Bengaluru Industrial Corridor. As a greenfield industrial smart city, the project is expected to attract ₹10,500 crore in manufacturing investments and create approximately 1 lakh direct and indirect jobs.
