PM Modi Lays Foundation Stone For 800 MW Thermal Power Plant In Yamunanagar on Ambedkar Jayanti

Yamunanagar (Haryana), April 14: On the occasion of Ambedkar Jayanti, Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone to expand the Deenbandhu Chhotu Ram Thermal Power Plant in Yamunanagar, Haryana, increasing its capacity to 800 MW. The event, held on the 135th birth anniversary of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, was marked by a grand public gathering attended by several dignitaries including Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini and Union Minister Manohar Lal Khattar.

Hailing the occasion as a historic one, CM Saini expressed gratitude to the Prime Minister, stating, “Today is Babasaheb Ambedkar’s 135th birth anniversary. On this auspicious day, under your leadership, the foundation stone of expanding the power plant has been laid. I thank you on behalf of the people of Haryana.”

Earlier in the day, PM Modi also visited Hisar where he flagged off the first commercial flight between Hisar and Ayodhya and laid the foundation stone for a new terminal building at Maharaja Agrasen Airport. CM Saini called the event “historic,” celebrating the launch of Haryana’s first airport terminal and the direct flight service to the holy city of Ayodhya.

Highlighting the progress made under the current leadership, Saini noted that Haryana has witnessed record-breaking development in the last decade under PM Modi’s guidance.

Meanwhile, addressing the gathering, PM Modi took a strong stance against the Congress, accusing the party of derailing Dr. Ambedkar’s vision through vote bank politics. Referring to the recently passed Waqf Amendment Act, the Prime Minister assured that land belonging to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, and Other Backward Classes (OBCs) will no longer face encroachment by the Waqf Board.

“Congress has become the destroyer of the Constitution. Babasaheb Ambedkar dreamed of an India where the poor and backward classes could live with dignity. Congress instead spread the virus of vote bank politics,” Modi said.

The Prime Minister’s visit underscored the government’s focus on infrastructure development and social justice, symbolically aligning with Ambedkar Jayanti.
