PM Modi Holds Grand Roadshow In Vadodara, Launches Major Infrastructure Projects Across Gujarat

Vadodara (Gujarat) [India]: Prime Minister Narendra Modi kicked off a vibrant roadshow in Vadodara on Monday as part of his two-day visit to Gujarat, during which he will inaugurate and lay foundation stones for several key development initiatives across the state.

The Prime Minister greeted enthusiastic crowds along the roadshow route, waving to supporters who responded with cheers, waved the Indian flag, and raised patriotic slogans. The atmosphere was festive, with flower petals being showered on the Prime Minister and patriotic songs playing in the background.

Among those present were family members of Indian Army Officer Colonel Sofiya Qureshi, who was involved in media briefings during Operation Sindoor. They honored the Prime Minister by showering him with flower petals.

PM Modi’s visit, spanning May 26 and 27, includes a series of events aimed at boosting Gujarat’s infrastructure and economic landscape. A student from Zimbabwe who is currently studying in Gujarat attended the roadshow and expressed solidarity with India, saying, “We stand with India in the fight against terrorism. When they (terrorists) attacked tourists, India attacked the terrorist bases and not the civilians. We support India.”

Another attendee, a student named Deepa, shared her thoughts: “We are very happy that PM Modi came to meet civilians. We are happy to cheer for Operation Sindoor. India has not targeted civilians in Pakistan. We stand for humanity. We stand against terrorism.”

Later in the day, the Prime Minister will travel to Dahod, where he will inaugurate a Locomotive Manufacturing Plant operated by Indian Railways. This facility will manufacture 9000 horsepower electric locomotives for both domestic use and export. These locomotives are equipped with regenerative braking systems, designed to increase freight capacity while reducing energy consumption, promoting environmental sustainability, according to an official release.

PM Modi will also flag off the first electric locomotive from the Dahod plant, along with launching the Vande Bharat Express between Veraval and Ahmedabad and an Express train between Valsad and Dahod.

He will further lay the foundation stones and inaugurate a host of development projects in Dahod, collectively worth around ₹24,000 crore. He will also address a public gathering there.

Following this, the Prime Minister will travel to Bhuj to launch and lay the foundation for additional infrastructure projects valued at over ₹53,400 crore.

On May 27, PM Modi will be in Gandhinagar to mark 20 years of the Gujarat Urban Growth Story and to launch the Urban Development Year 2025. He will address a public event to commemorate the occasion.

Major projects being launched include energy transmission initiatives to support renewable energy production at the Khavda Renewable Energy Park, an ultra-supercritical thermal power plant at Tapi, and developments at the Kandla Port. Numerous road, solar, and water infrastructure projects under the Gujarat state government are also part of the rollout.
