PM Modi Hails Youth As ‘Ready And Disruptive’ At YUGM Conclave; Unveils AI Super Hubs at IITs


New Delhi [India] : Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday lauded India’s youth as “ready and disruptive,” highlighting their growing role in research, innovation, and the global education landscape. Speaking at the YUGM Conclave in New Delhi, he emphasized the nation’s commitment to becoming a global hub for advanced technologies, especially artificial intelligence.

“The youth of the country today is R and D—ready and disruptive,” PM Modi said. “They are setting new research milestones and driving breakthrough innovations.”

He noted India’s rising presence in the global Higher Education Impact Rankings and praised the international expansion of Indian academic institutions, saying this cross-border collaboration will strengthen academic exchange and innovation.

AI and Future Tech Infrastructure
PM Modi spotlighted India’s AI Mission, which aims to create world-class infrastructure built around high-quality datasets and cutting-edge research. He announced the establishment of super hubs for artificial intelligence and related technologies at IIT Kanpur and IIT Bombay.

“These hubs will focus on AI, intelligent systems, bioscience, biotechnology, health, and medicine,” he said, while also unveiling the Wadhwani Innovation Network and a new pledge to collaborate with the Anusandhan National Research Foundation to accelerate research.

Fast-tracking Innovation
Looking ahead, PM Modi stressed the importance of speeding up the innovation pipeline—from lab prototypes to market-ready products—to fulfill the vision of a developed India by 2047.

“We have set a timeframe of the next 25 years to achieve the goal of a developed India. The journey from idea to implementation must be completed as swiftly as possible. Faster lab-to-market transitions will ensure that the fruits of research reach the people quickly and inspire further innovation,” he said.
