Ahead of his historic visit to Saudi Arabia, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has lauded the 2.7 million Indians living in the Kingdom, describing them as a “living bridge” between the two nations and national “rashtradoots” (ambassadors).
In an interview with Arab News, PM Modi extended heartfelt appreciation to King Salman and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman for their unwavering support to the Indian community, especially during the Covid-19 pandemic.

“Yoga has gained considerable popularity in Saudi Arabia… There is also a wide following for Indian films and actors. Arab broadcasters run dedicated Indian content channels,” he noted.
Modi also highlighted the upcoming World Audio Visual and Entertainment Summit in Mumbai (May 1–4), expressing hope for strong Saudi participation.
