PM Modi Hails Armed Forces For Operation Sindoor, Warns Terror Groups Of Severe Consequences

New Delhi [India]: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday lauded the Indian Armed Forces for their decisive and courageous action during Operation Sindoor, asserting that the military had been given full operational freedom to eliminate terrorism at its roots.

In a televised Address to the Nation, PM Modi issued a stark warning to terror organizations in the wake of the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack, which claimed 26 innocent lives.

“Every terror organisation now knows ki hamari behano, betiyon ke maathe se Sindoor hatane ka anjaam kya hota hai,” the Prime Minister declared, invoking a powerful cultural metaphor to express the emotional toll of the attack and the state’s resolve.

Tribute to the Forces and Women of India

PM Modi praised the valour, restraint, and precision demonstrated by the armed forces, intelligence agencies, and scientific community in executing the high-risk operation.

“I salute the armed forces, the military, the intelligence agency and the scientists. I dedicate this bravery to every mother, every sister, and every daughter of our country.”

Pahalgam Terror Attack: A Turning Point

Reflecting on the brutal Pahalgam attack, PM Modi said:

“The barbarism shown by terrorists has shaken not just the country, but the world. Innocent people, who were on holiday with their families, were targeted and killed after being asked about their religion.”

He added that India’s response had to match the scale of the provocation, and the military had been empowered to act without restraint.

Operation Sindoor: Retaliation with Precision

In retaliation to the Pahalgam attack, India launched Operation Sindoor on May 7, conducting precision strikes on terror infrastructure across Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoJK). Over 100 terrorists were reportedly killed in the strikes.

Following the operation, Pakistan attempted military aggression, but it was swiftly repelled by Indian forces, who also launched countermeasures targeting Pakistani airbases.

Diplomatic Measures and Water Treaty Suspension

In addition to military action, the Indian government initiated diplomatic and strategic responses, including placing the Indus Waters Treaty—a key water-sharing agreement—in abeyance, to signal its disapproval of Pakistan’s continued support for cross-border terrorism.

PM Modi’s Message of Resolve

“We have given full freedom to the Indian army to wipe out terrorists… Our message is clear: those who threaten our citizens and attack our sovereignty will face consequences beyond imagination,” the Prime Minister affirmed.

PM Modi’s address signals a zero-tolerance policy on terrorism and underscores a shift in India’s approach toward cross-border provocations.
