Bhubaneswar (Odisha) [India], January 28: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday emphasized the growing investment opportunities in Odisha, declaring that now is the “right time” for investors to focus on the state. Speaking at the Utkarsh Odisha – Make in Odisha Conclave 2025, he highlighted that this year’s business summit is the largest in Odisha’s history, with 5-6 times more investors participating than previous events.
Referring to Eastern India as the growth engine for the country, PM Modi said, “Odisha has always been central to India’s economic contributions, particularly in trade and industry. In the 21st century, Odisha is focused on reviving its glorious legacy.”
PM Modi further highlighted Odisha’s growing international relationships, citing Singapore’s enthusiasm and ASEAN countries’ interest in enhancing trade with the state. He remarked that there are more opportunities in Odisha now than ever before, emphasizing, “Yahi Samay hai, sahi samay hai (This is the time, the right time).”
Addressing the investors, PM Modi assured that their investments in Odisha’s development would lead to success, emphasizing, “This is Modi’s guarantee.” He also discussed India’s path to becoming the third-largest global economy, underpinned by sectors like food processing, petrochemicals, fisheries, IT, textiles, mining, and green energy.
In his speech, PM Modi underscored the importance of India’s service sector and the creation of high-quality products for sustainable growth, adding that India is transforming its industrial ecosystem. The Prime Minister emphasized that industries based on Odisha’s resources would soon be established locally, moving away from the previous trend of exporting raw materials.
The event, PM Modi noted, serves as a platform to realize the vision of a “Viksit Bharat” (Developed India), with Odisha playing a key role in driving the nation’s economic growth.
