Ahmedabad (Gujarat) [India], May 27: Prime Minister Narendra Modi wrapped up his two-day visit to Gujarat on Tuesday and departed for Delhi after receiving a warm farewell at Ahmedabad Airport. He was seen off by Governor Acharya Devvrat, Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, and several top dignitaries and officials, as per a release from the Gujarat Chief Minister’s Office (CMO).
Also present at the farewell were Union Minister Manohar Lal Khattar, Union Minister and BJP State President CR Patil, Protocol Minister Jagdish Vishwakarma, Ahmedabad Mayor Pratibha Jain, State Chief Secretary Pankaj Joshi, DGP Vikas Sahay, Air Marshal Nagesh Kapoor, Major General Gaurav Bagga, and other senior officials.
Earlier in the day, PM Modi addressed the celebration of 20 years of the Gujarat Urban Growth Story in Gandhinagar, where he lauded the state’s transformation since its formation in 1960. “There were doubts about how Gujarat would progress when it was carved out of Bombay State,” he said. “Back then, it was mostly known for salt. Today, it’s a global hub for diamonds.”
Setting a future vision, PM Modi called for planning to be undertaken now for Gujarat’s 75th anniversary in 2035. He outlined aspirations across sectors including industry, agriculture, education, and sports and connected this milestone to India’s ambition of hosting the Olympics in 2036.
Modi also urged citizens to support Made in India products and emphasized that Operation Sindoor, a movement driven by public support, should evolve into a wider campaign to realize the goal of a Viksit Bharat (Developed India).
