New Delhi [India]: Prime Minister Narendra Modi chaired a high-level meeting on Thursday with Secretaries of various Union Ministries and Departments to review India’s national preparedness and inter-ministerial coordination in light of recent national security developments.
During the meeting, the Prime Minister emphasized the importance of seamless coordination among ministries and agencies to ensure operational continuity and institutional resilience. He reviewed the status of planning, preparedness, and ongoing efforts across the government ecosystem to manage the evolving situation.
Secretaries were directed to conduct comprehensive assessments of their respective ministries’ operations, with a specific focus on:
- Emergency response readiness
- Internal communication protocols
- Security of critical infrastructure
- Countering misinformation and fake news
- Strengthening civil defence mechanisms
The Prime Minister was briefed on actionable measures identified by each ministry in response to the current conflict scenario. A “Whole-of-Government” approach has been adopted, with ministries enhancing internal processes to remain prepared for any emerging contingency.
Officials also highlighted steps being taken in close coordination with state authorities and local institutions to ensure ground-level implementation of national directives and resilience plans.
Among those in attendance were the Cabinet Secretary, senior officials from the Prime Minister’s Office, and Secretaries from the Ministries of Defence, Home Affairs, External Affairs, Information & Broadcasting, Power, Health, and Telecommunications.
In his concluding remarks, PM Modi called for continued alertness, institutional synergy, and transparent communication, reaffirming the government’s unwavering commitment to national security, operational preparedness, and citizen safety.
