PM Modi Attends NDA Chief Ministers’ Meeting After Rekha Gupta’s Swearing-In

New Delhi [India], February 20: Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived at the Imperial Hotel in New Delhi on Thursday to attend a meeting of Chief Ministers from National Democratic Alliance (NDA)-ruled states. The meeting follows the swearing-in ceremony of Delhi’s newly-elected Chief Minister, Rekha Gupta, and her cabinet ministers earlier in the day.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah was among the first to arrive at the venue, followed by BJP National President JP Nadda and Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma.

Earlier in the day, PM Modi congratulated Rekha Gupta on assuming office as the Chief Minister of Delhi, taking to social media platform X to express his confidence in her leadership. He highlighted her journey from grassroots politics to the top post and wished her success in her tenure.

“Congratulations to Smt. Rekha Gupta Ji on taking oath as Delhi’s Chief Minister. She has risen from the grassroots, being active in campus politics, state organisation, municipal administration, and now MLA as well as Chief Minister. I am confident she will work for Delhi’s development with full vigour. My best wishes to her for a fruitful tenure. @gupta_rekha,” PM Modi posted on X.

Rekha Gupta was sworn in as the ninth Chief Minister of Delhi. Along with her, six other BJP leaders were sworn in as ministers. The ceremony was held at Ramlila Ground in the national capital.

The ministers appointed in Rekha Gupta’s cabinet are:

  • Parvesh Sahib Singh
  • Ashish Sood
  • Manjinder Singh Sirsa
  • Ravinder Indraj Singh
  • Kapil Mishra
  • Pankaj Kumar Singh

BJP’s top leadership, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Union Minister JP Nadda, and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, were present at the ceremony, alongside Chief Ministers and Deputy Chief Ministers from other states.

Other notable leaders attending the event included Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma, Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis, Bihar Deputy CM Vijay Kumar Sinha, Rajasthan Deputy CM Prem Chand Bairwa, Goa CM Pramod Sawant, Andhra Pradesh CM Chandrababu Naidu, and several others.
