PM Modi Arrives In China To Attend SCO Summit

On Saturday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Tianjin, China, to take part in the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) conference. This will be his first trip to China since 2018, and it will be an important diplomatic event, especially as India is dealing with new economic challenges from the US.

A lot of people are looking forward to the bilateral meeting between PM Modi and Chinese President Xi Jinping. The two leaders are likely to talk about a number of things, including how to work together on the economy and how to improve relations along the border. This is because both countries want to repair ties that were damaged during the 2020 Galwan Valley conflicts.

In light of current US actions, the summit is even more important. The Trump administration put a 50% tax on Indian exports last week. Many people think this was a retribution for India’s continuous purchase of Russian oil. Reports say that the US’s shared economic burden has given India and China a new reason to get along better.

Leaders from more than 20 countries are coming together for the SCO summit, which will take place from August 31 to September 1. It is set to be the biggest meeting in the organization’s history, showing how countries in the “Global South” are becoming more aligned. There will also be a new, cutting-edge attraction during the meeting: a humanoid robot named Xiao He who will be helping journalists and attendees at a special assistance desk.
