New Delhi (India), February 6: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday took a strong stance against the Congress party, accusing them of engaging in “appeasement politics” and emphasizing the BJP-led NDA government’s commitment to “shantushtikaran” (total saturation) rather than “tushtikaran” (appeasement). Speaking in the Rajya Sabha during the motion of thanks on the President’s Address, PM Modi reaffirmed the government’s dedication to the ideal of ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas’ (Together with all, Development for all).
PM Modi stressed that the government has worked towards ensuring the optimal use of India’s resources, focusing on saturation in its approach. “We’ve tried and ensured that the schemes reach the beneficiaries without any pilferages. In the last decade, we’ve worked with the ideal of ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas’ and that has brought results,” he stated.
The Prime Minister also highlighted the government’s actions regarding the OBC Commission, noting that OBC MPs from both Houses had been advocating for constitutional status for the Commission for over three decades, but their demands had been ignored by the previous governments. “After decades of wait, we gave constitutional status to this Commission, respecting the community’s demands,” PM Modi said.
Touching on the Union Budget, PM Modi talked about the focus on benefiting various sectors, particularly the poor. He pointed to the government’s initiatives in the leather, footwear, and toy industries, emphasizing that these measures aim to empower the working class. “We used to import toys in the past, but today, we’re exporting toys,” he remarked, highlighting a significant shift in the industry.
The Prime Minister also underscored the government’s efforts to improve infrastructure in neglected areas, particularly border villages. “Villages on our borders were ignored for decades. We changed our approach towards them. We identified them as ‘first villages’ and specifically focused on their development,” he explained. PM Modi mentioned that Cabinet Ministers were assigned to stay in these villages for extended periods to understand and address their issues.
In his address, PM Modi stressed that the BJP-led government is committed to the development of all communities and regions, ensuring that no one is left behind in the pursuit of progress.
