NEW DELHI, INDIA – Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday spoke in the Lok Sabha and thanked the 140 crore people of India for their strong support throughout “Operation Sindoor.” The Prime Minister said how grateful he was to the people of the country and stressed how important public trust and unity were for the success of the recent military operation.
During a heated debate in Parliament about Operation Sindoor, Prime Minister Modi talked about how strong the Indian people are when they work together. His comments made it clear that the government recognized the national unity and support it got as Indian soldiers carried out the operation, which was a retaliation strike against extremist infrastructure after the Pahalgam terror attack on April 22.
This statement didn’t go into depth about what kind of public support the government was talking about or how much of it there was, but the Prime Minister’s statements show that the government knows how important the civilian population is to national security efforts. Earlier reports and remarks from the government and ruling party have always underlined how important it is for the country to be strong and for the populace to have faith in the face of danger.
Prime Minister Modi’s gesture of thanks is meant to strengthen the ties between the government, the military, and the people, recognizing their shared spirit during a time when national security is a top priority. In 2025, India’s population is expected to be about 1.46 billion, hence “140 crore” (1.4 billion) is a meaningful and important number.
