Pete Davidson Supports Ariana Grande’s Oscar Nomination And Talks About Their Relationship

Washington [US], February 16: Comedian and actor Pete Davidson expressed his support for his ex-fiancee Ariana Grande during this awards season, revealing that he hopes she wins the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress. Grande is nominated for her role as Glinda in Jon M. Chu’s Wicked.

Davidson, who was engaged to Grande in 2018 for four months, spoke about their relationship in a recent interview. “When we see each other, which is few and far between, because we’re not in the same circles, it’s all love,” he said, reflecting on their friendship post-breakup.

He added, “I hope she wins the Oscar; I hope she takes the gold,” showing genuine excitement for Grande’s career. “I’ve had some pretty adult relationships with some pretty amazing women, and when it’s ended, it’s been cool,” he continued, emphasizing the mature nature of their bond.

Since their split in 2018, Davidson has been in high-profile relationships with several well-known figures, including Kate Beckinsale, Kaia Gerber, Phoebe Dynevor, Margaret Qualley, Kim Kardashian, Chase Sui Wonders, and Madelyn Cline. Meanwhile, Grande married Dalton Gomez in 2021, but they separated in 2024. Grande is currently dating her Wicked co-star, Ethan Slater.

Davidson also opened up about the challenges of dealing with the intense media scrutiny surrounding his relationships. He admitted that the constant attention was “humiliating” and “upsetting.” “Everyone is dating everyone and it’s Hollywood. Look at Paul Mescal, Timmy [Chalamet], Barry Keough. But because I’m ugly, they wrote about me,” he explained. “I was harassed for like five years and it made my life a living hell.”

While Davidson and Grande were together, she famously wrote the song “Pete Davidson” for her album Sweetener. A month after their breakup, Grande referenced him, along with her other exes, in the hit song “thank u, next.”

Davidson’s supportive words for Grande show that despite their past, the two share a cordial and respectful relationship.
