Pete Davidson And Eddie Murphy Team Up For Comedy Heist Film ‘The Pickup’; Trailer Out Now

Washington DC [US], June 10: Actors Pete Davidson and Eddie Murphy are joining forces in the upcoming comedy heist film The Pickup, set to premiere on Amazon Prime Video on August 6. The trailer, released Monday, teases a wild and hilarious ride featuring crime, chaos, and an unlikely duo caught in a high-stakes mess.

Directed by Tim Story, known for hits like Ride Along, The Barbershop, and The Blackening, The Pickup follows two mismatched armored truck drivers—Russell (Murphy) and Travis (Davidson)—who find themselves ambushed by a crew of ruthless criminals led by the sharp and fearless Zoe (Keke Palmer).

What begins as a routine cash pickup spirals into a full-blown heist, forcing the duo to navigate escalating danger and mounting absurdity. The star-studded cast also includes Eva Longoria, Marshawn Lynch, WWE star Joe “Roman Reigns” Anoa’i, Andrew Dice Clay, and Ismael Cruz Córdova. The screenplay is penned by Kevin Burrows and Matt Rider.

Meanwhile, Pete Davidson has also taken a dark turn in the horror thriller The Home, directed by James DeMonaco, the mind behind The Purge franchise. Released on July 25, The Home features Davidson as Max, a young man assigned to community service at a seemingly normal retirement home with chilling secrets. As he explores the forbidden fourth floor, he encounters disturbing residents and uncovers the home’s sinister past.

DeMonaco describes the film as a throwback to 1970s horror, with Davidson revealing a more intense, dramatic side in the lead role.
