Netflix India shared the exciting news on Instagram, posting, “It’s a wrap – by the order of the Peaky Blinders. The Peaky Blinders film has completed filming and will be coming soon, only on Netflix.”
The post was accompanied by a behind-the-scenes photo featuring Cillian Murphy and Barry Keoghan, sparking waves of excitement among fans. Social media users flooded the comment section, expressing their eagerness for the film’s release, with comments like “Can’t wait to watch” and “So so excited.”
Directed by Tom Harper, who has previously helmed several episodes of the series, the Peaky Blinders film is shrouded in mystery, though it is described as “an epic continuation of the multi-award-winning gangster saga, set in the lawless streets of Birmingham in the 1900s” by Variety.
Filming began in September, and fans were treated to an exciting sneak peek of Cillian Murphy reprising his iconic role as Tommy Shelby. The film is written by Steven Knight, who also serves as a co-producer alongside Murphy, Caryn Mandabach, and Guy Heeley. The executive producers include Tom Harper, David Kosse, Jamie Glazebrook, Andrew Warren, and David Mason.
Murphy, who won global acclaim for his portrayal of Tommy Shelby, had previously said, “This is one for the fans.” The Peaky Blinders series concluded with its sixth season in 2022, just before Murphy starred in Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer, a role that earned him an Academy Award nomination.
