London [UK], February 17: Payal Kapadia’s film All We Imagine As Light did not win an award at the 78th edition of the BAFTA Awards.
Nominated in the Best Film Not in the English Language category, the film lost to France’s Emilia Perez. This marks the third major disappointment for Kapadia and India, as the film also failed to secure wins at the Golden Globes and Critics Choice Awards earlier this year.
Nevertheless, All We Imagine As Light has achieved significant international recognition. The film made history as the first Indian film to win the prestigious Grand Prix at the Cannes Film Festival in 2024. It stars Kani Kusruti, Divya Prabha, and Chhaya Kadam, and explores the poignant story of a troubled nurse and her young roommate grappling with their desires during a trip to a beach town.
The BAFTA Awards were streamed in India on Lionsgate Play.
