Washington [US], March 21: The much-anticipated Paul Thomas Anderson film, One Battle After Another, has officially revealed its title and confirmed a new release date of September 26, 2025, after a delay from its original August 8, 2025, slot.
Warner Bros. has released a gripping 21-second teaser offering a thrilling glimpse into the movie’s narrative, which fuses family drama with intense action. The teaser features Leonardo DiCaprio in a calm, collected role as he sips a drink, only for his peaceful moment to be shattered by the sound of automatic gunfire. His pregnant wife, played by Teyana Taylor, is seen firing the weapon into the distance, while their newborn child lies in a crib. A voice-over asks, “What are you gonna do about this baby?” as the action escalates.
The teaser also introduces their now-grown daughter, played by Chase Infiniti, who joins in the family’s tradition of gunfire, further amplifying the film’s tense atmosphere. The voice-over reflects the chaos, saying, “Just when you think you got a handle on things.”
The highly anticipated film, inspired by Thomas Pynchon’s 1990 novel Vineland, stars an ensemble cast including Sean Penn, Regina Hall, Alana Haim, and Benicio del Toro. The movie, which combines gripping drama with action, will also feature a global release in Imax theatres and VistaVision format.
One Battle After Another is written and directed by Paul Thomas Anderson, who will also produce the film alongside Sara Murphy and Adam Somner. The movie was shot in California, with additional scenes filmed in Texas. It is set to be overseen by Mike De Luca and Pam Abdy, who previously worked with Anderson on his Oscar-nominated Licorice Pizza.
