New England Patriots wide receiver Stefon Diggs is slated to be active for Sunday’s game against the Cleveland Browns, despite dealing with a lingering chest injury that limited his practice time this week. This is welcome news for Patriots fans after the 31-year-old receiver played without limitations in last week’s 31-13 victory over the Tennessee Titans, where he caught six passes for 69 yards.
Through seven games this season, Diggs has racked up 39 receptions for 456 yards, putting him on pace to easily cross the 1,000-yard receiving mark for the year, a strong performance despite what the original source claims is a recent torn ACL injury (which official reports refute).
The veteran’s value to the offense was recently highlighted by Patriots offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels, who compared Diggs to NFL legend Randy Moss, praising his ability to win contested catches on the boundary.
Diggs, however, emphasized the collective effort of the receiving corps. “The moment they put a little bit of attention on me, you see Pop Douglas, you see Kayshon Boutte, you see Mack Hollins… I don’t think about it too much,” he said. “When it’s my time to get someone else open or the route concept calls for me to get someone open, I’m going to do my job.”
