Actor Nana Patekar recently shared an interesting behind-the-scenes story about working with Pankaj Tripathi in the 2018 Tamil film Kaala, which also starred superstar Rajinikanth.
In an interview with News18, Nana revealed that he was surprised when he saw Tripathi playing a brief role in the film and even joked that he would “beat” him if he accepted such roles again.
‘You Are Already A Big Actor’
Recalling the moment on set, Nana Patekar said he questioned Pankaj Tripathi about why he agreed to such a small part.
According to Nana, Tripathi explained that he took up the role because he wanted the opportunity to work with both him and Rajinikanth.
Nana responded by praising Tripathi’s talent and telling him he was already a respected actor.
“You are a very big actor. You won’t become big by working with us — you are already big. If you ever take such roles again, I’ll beat you,” Nana recalled telling him jokingly.
The comment reflected Nana’s admiration for Tripathi’s acting abilities despite the latter choosing a brief appearance in the film.
