BJP’s Parvesh Verma Rejects AAP’s Claims, Highlights Party’s Collective Leadership Ahead Of Delhi Polls

New Delhi [India]: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate Parvesh Verma dismissed Aam Aadmi Party’s (AAP) allegations regarding delays in naming BJP’s chief ministerial candidate, emphasizing the BJP’s collective approach to leadership.

In an interview with ANI, Verma stated, “Hamare baraat mein saare dulhe hai,” indicating that every party member plays a significant role in shaping the BJP’s future. He contrasted this with the AAP, where leadership is centralized around one individual, such as Arvind Kejriwal.

“BJP is not a one-man party. Unlike parties led by Akhilesh Yadav or Arvind Kejriwal, where one person declares themselves the CM or PM face, BJP operates with collective decision-making,” Verma remarked.

Confidence in BJP’s Win

Verma expressed confidence in BJP’s success in the Delhi assembly elections, signaling the end of the party’s absence in the capital’s governance.

“Iss baar akaal sukha khatam hoga, New Delhi mai toh zarur hoga,” he said, predicting BJP’s victory.

Addressing internal party discussions on seat distribution, Verma acknowledged disagreements within the BJP due to its significant growth. He explained, “BJP is a big party, and only BJP can defeat itself. Internal differences are inevitable, especially with multiple candidates vying for one seat.”

When asked about BJP’s CM face, Verma deferred, stating that the decision rests with Virendra Sachdeva, BJP Delhi president, under whose leadership the elections are being contested.

Accusations Against Kejriwal

Verma accused AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal of planning to replace Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann after February 9 and claimed that 30 Punjab MLAs were sent to New Delhi to influence voters.

“Kejriwal wants to become Punjab CM because he cannot live without power. However, ongoing court cases, including those related to the liquor excise policy, compromise his position,” Verma alleged.

AAP’s Counterclaims

AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal accused the BJP of distributing money and goods to sway voters. In a press conference, he said, “They are distributing money, gold chains, and goods to influence voters. This is dishonesty, and people must reject such actions.”

Kejriwal also proposed a public debate between BJP and AAP’s chief ministerial candidates, taking a dig at BJP’s alleged lack of leadership vision.

Ramesh Bidhuri’s Response

BJP’s Ramesh Bidhuri, a candidate from Kalkaji, dismissed AAP’s claim that he is BJP’s CM face. Calling the allegations baseless, Bidhuri stated, “This is misleading propaganda by AAP. I have no claim to any position.”

Bidhuri criticized Kejriwal for his remarks and reiterated that the BJP is poised to form a government in Delhi after the February 5 elections.

Delhi Assembly Elections

The Delhi assembly elections will take place on February 5, with vote counting scheduled for February 8. The political contest pits BJP against AAP and Congress in a battle for the capital’s governance.
