Parliament Budget Session To Resume; Key Discussions On Grants And Committee Reports Scheduled

New Delhi [India]: The Budget Session of Parliament is set to resume on Thursday, with the Lok Sabha scheduled to reconvene at 11:00 am to address key legislative matters and present multiple committee reports.

According to the list of business, BJP MP Kiren Rijiju and Congress MP Gaurav Gogoi will move a motion seeking the House’s agreement with the Eighth Report of the Business Advisory Committee, presented on March 19, 2025.

Key Agendas for the Session:

  • Discussion and Voting on Demands for Grants: The House will deliberate on budgetary allocations for the Ministry of Jal Shakti and the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare for the financial year 2025-26.
  • Committee Reports:
    • BJP MP Jagdambika Pal and Samajwadi Party MP Dharmendra Yadav will present reports from the Committee on Public Accounts (2024-25).
    • BJP MPs Nishikant Dubey and Anil Baluni will present reports from the Standing Committee on Communications and Information Technology (2024-25).
    • NCP MP Sunil Dattatray Tatkare and BJP MP Janardan Singh Sigriwal will present the Second Report of the Standing Committee on Petroleum and Natural Gas (2024-25), focusing on the Ministry’s Demands for Grants (2025-26).
    • BJP MPs Anurag Thakur and Manna Lal Rawat will present the Fifth Report of the Standing Committee on Coal, Mines and Steel, addressing budgetary demands for the Ministry of Mines.
    • TMC MP Yusuf Pathan and BJP MP Praveen Khandelwal will lay reports from the Standing Committee on Commerce on the Table.

The second phase of the Budget Session began on March 10 and is scheduled to continue until April 4.
