Park Bo-gum, Kim So-hyun Starrer ‘Good Boy’ Set for OTT Release On May 31

Seoul [South Korea], April 22: The much-anticipated Korean drama Good Boy, starring an ensemble cast including Park Bo-gum, Kim So-hyun, Lee Sang-yi, Heo Sung-tae, and Tae Won-seok, is all set to premiere on Prime Video on May 31.

According to a press release, Good Boy tells the gripping tale of former medal-winning athletes who are recruited as police officers to take on the criminal underworld. The drama follows Yun Dong-ju (Park Bo-gum), Ji Han-na (Kim So-hyun), Kim Jong-hyeon (Lee Sang-yi), Ko Man-sik (Heo Sung-tae), and Shin Jae-hong (Tae Won-seok) as they form an unconventional yet determined task force.

Fresh from his success in When Life Gives You Tangerines, Park Bo-gum returns in a new avatar as Yun Dong-ju. Despite being named after a noble Korean poet, Dong-ju’s youth was filled with fights. Channeling that aggression into boxing, he earned a gold medal, only to face an unjust expulsion that derailed his career. A new chapter begins when Dong-ju joins the police force, but his journey proves far tougher than anticipated—until he meets the captivating Ji Han-na.

Kim So-hyun portrays Ji Han-na, a former world-class shooting champion who, after facing intense scrutiny and personal struggles, walks away from her sport. Now on a path to follow her father’s footsteps as a police officer, Han-na joins the special unit, only to find herself working alongside her ex-boyfriend Jong-hyeon and the overly affectionate Dong-ju.

Lee Sang-yi takes on the role of Kim Jong-hyeon, a silver medalist with his own backstory, adding further depth to the drama’s compelling character lineup.

Directed by Sim Na-yeon (Beyond Evil, The Good Bad Mother) and written by Lee Dae-il (Life on Mars, Bring It On, Ghost), Good Boy promises a mix of action, emotion, and personal redemption as its flawed heroes confront both criminals and their pasts.
