Paresh Rawal Clarifies Exit From ‘Hera Pheri 3’, Denies Creative Differences With Director Priyadarshan

Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], May 25: Veteran Bollywood actor Paresh Rawal has addressed the controversy surrounding his unexpected exit from the highly anticipated film Hera Pheri 3, clarifying that there were no creative differences with director Priyadarshan.

Earlier this year, Priyadarshan had confirmed Rawal’s participation in the third installment of the Hera Pheri franchise. However, the sudden announcement of Rawal’s departure last week surprised both the film industry and fans. Speculation intensified following reports suggesting that actor Akshay Kumar might pursue legal action against Rawal for what was described as an “inappropriate departure.”

Responding to the growing controversy, Paresh Rawal took to social media platform X to clarify his stance. “My lawyer, Ameet Naik, has sent an appropriate response regarding my rightful termination and exit. Once they read my response all issues will be laid to rest,” Rawal posted.

Addressing rumors that his decision stemmed from creative clashes, the veteran actor issued a clear statement denying such claims. “I wish to put it on record that my decision to step away from Hera Pheri 3 was not due to creative differences,” he wrote. “I REITERATE THAT THERE ARE NO CREATIVE DISAGREEMENTS WITH THE FILMMAKER. I hold immense love, respect, and faith in Mr. Priyadarshan, the film’s director.”

Despite his explanation, fans remained puzzled and took to social media to voice their concerns and theories. While some speculated about contract disputes or financial disagreements, others wondered if Rawal was distancing himself from his iconic role to avoid being typecast.

One user pleaded, “Then what happened? Are the producers offering less money, or are you bored of playing the same role? Come on, Babu Bhaiyya, Hera Pheri without even one of the three main leads would be totally pointless. Please rethink.”

Another user echoed the sentiment, suggesting, “You don’t want to get trapped again in Babu Bhaiya Image…?”

For over two decades, Paresh Rawal’s portrayal of Baburao Ganpatrao Apte—fondly known as Babu Bhaiya—has been a beloved cornerstone of Indian comedy cinema. The original Hera Pheri was released in 2000 and became a cult classic, followed by a successful sequel in 2006. The franchise starred Akshay Kumar, Suniel Shetty, Paresh Rawal, Bipasha Basu, Rajpal Yadav, and Rimi Sen.

As fans eagerly await more updates on the future of Hera Pheri 3, Paresh Rawal’s exit marks a significant turning point in the franchise’s journey.
