Washington [US], December 20: Acclaimed actor Song Kang-Ho, best known for his role in the Oscar-winning film Parasite, has officially signed on for a guest appearance in the second season of Netflix’s hit anthology series Beef.
He will join an all-star ensemble cast that includes Carey Mulligan, Oscar Isaac, Charles Melton, Cailee Spaeny, and Youn Yuh-jung, as confirmed by Deadline. While details about Song’s character are still under wraps, the upcoming season will continue to explore a gripping narrative centered on a young couple who unintentionally witness a tense confrontation between their wealthy boss and his wife, leading to a series of manipulative actions in the elite world of a country club and its powerful Korean billionaire owner.
The first season of Beef, which premiered in 2023, was a massive success, winning numerous accolades including eight Emmy Awards, four Critics Choice Awards, and three Golden Globe Awards, among others. Starring Steven Yeun and Ali Wong, the show explored the lives of two strangers whose worlds collide following a road rage incident, inspired by creator Lee Sung Jin’s own experiences.
Season two of Beef will feature eight episodes, each running for 30 minutes. Lee Sung Jin returns as the creator, showrunner, and executive producer, with Yeun, Wong, Jake Schreier, Kitao Sakurai, and others also serving as executive producers. The series is produced by A24.
