Pappu Yadav Demands President’s Rule In Bihar After Hospital Firing Incident And Rising Crime Rates

Patna (Bihar) [India], July 17: Independent MP from Purnea, Pappu Yadav was prevented from visiting a Patna hospital on Thursday morning, where a shocking shooting incident took place involving a prisoner undergoing treatment.

The incident occurred when unidentified assailants opened fire on criminal Chandan Mishra, who was out on parole for medical reasons and admitted to Paras Hospital. Police suspect a rival gang was behind the attack. Mishra, who has multiple murder cases registered against him, is currently undergoing treatment, Patna SSP Kartikay Sharma confirmed.

Reacting strongly to the attack, Pappu Yadav accused the Bihar administration of lawlessness and called for President’s Rule in the state.

“I will request the Governor to impose President’s Rule in Bihar. Nurses, doctors—no one is safe. These leaders can only do politics based on money,” he stated.

He also alleged that the police are conducting fake encounters based on caste, while shielding actual criminals.

“Criminals are chosen based on caste. Fake encounters are staged. Shooters are being protected. There is no administration here; mafias are being sheltered,” he added.

Taking a political dig, Yadav further claimed that Chief Minister Nitish Kumar is not in control of the state’s governance.

“Nitish Kumar is not running the government. He is practically asleep. BJP is the one running the state,” he asserted.

Meanwhile, another crime shook the state on the same morning. The blood-soaked body of Shivam alias Bunty, a 20-year-old son of Rakesh Singh, was found outside his home in Hathiyakandh village under Shahpur police station, SP West Patna Bhanu Pratap Singh reported.

According to family members, Shivam had returned to the village just four days earlier from Danapur, where he lived with his parents for studies.

These back-to-back incidents have intensified concerns over the deteriorating law and order situation in Bihar, prompting public and political outcry.
