Mumbai (Maharashtra), February 27: In remembrance of legendary ghazal singer Pankaj Udhas, his final posthumous track Baithi Ho Kyun Gumsum was released on Thursday, marking the first death anniversary of the singer. The song is available for streaming on T-Series’ official YouTube channel.

In a heartfelt message accompanying the release, Pankaj Udhas’ daughters, Reva Udhas and Nayaab Udhas, expressed their deep connection to the track. “Legends don’t fade, and neither does their music. The song was composed by the late Ananda Shankar and recreated by Deepak Pandit & Pankaj Udhas, with the lyrics penned by Pankaj Udhas himself. It holds significant emotional value for the Udhas family as it is one of the final tracks that the iconic singer had worked on before his passing.
Pankaj Udhas, who passed away on February 26 last year at the age of 72, is remembered for his immense contribution to the ghazal genre. He gained immense popularity in 1980 with his solo album Aahat, and went on to release numerous successful albums, including Mukarar (1981), Tarrannum (1982), and Mehfil (1983).
Some of his most iconic and beloved renditions include Chitthi Aayi Hai, Chandani Raat Mein, Na Kajre Ki Dhaar, Aur Ahista Kijiye Baatein, Ek Taraf Uska Ghar, and Thodi Thodi Piya Karo.
