Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India] : The highly anticipated season four of the hit legal drama series ‘Criminal Justice’ is finally set to premiere on May 22, 2025, exclusively on Jio Hotstar. The makers released the teaser for the upcoming season on Tuesday, generating excitement among fans.
In this new season, Pankaj Tripathi will reprise his role as the astute lawyer Madhav Mishra, who is known for handling complex and tricky criminal cases in court. Directed by Rohan Sippy, the fourth season will see Madhav Mishra tackling a case involving a passionate love affair and an unexpected murder, with Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub playing a key role as the person on trial.
The new season also features a stellar cast, including Surveen Chawla, Mita Vashisht, Asha Negi, Shweta Basu Prasad, Khushboo Atre, and Barkha Singh.
In a press note shared by the makers, Pankaj Tripathi expressed his fondness for the character, calling the show a ‘homecoming’ for him. He said, “Every time I return as Madhav Mishra, it’s like reuniting with an old friend who still has something new to teach me. There’s an honesty and warmth to him that audiences have held onto through every season. That love is deeply humbling. Madhav isn’t just a character I play—he’s someone I carry with me. And with each chapter, that bond only grows stronger.”
Rohan Sippy, the director of the series, also shared his excitement about working with Pankaj Tripathi again, saying, “It was an absolute delight to get an opportunity to return to work with Pankaj Tripathi, who has made the courtroom warrior Madhav Mishra such an unforgettable character. The first season of ‘Criminal Justice’ featured Vikrant Massey and Pankaj Tripathi in the lead roles. The series is produced by Applause Entertainment in association with BBC Studios.
