‘Panchayat’ Season 4 To Premiere June 24, Chandan Roy Calls It His Favourite Yet

Patna (Bihar) [India], June 18: As the release date for Panchayat Season 4 nears, actor Chandan Roy—who plays fan-favourite Vikas Shukla—has given audiences a tantalizing preview of what’s in store when the series returns on Prime Video on June 24.

Roy expressed his excitement, calling the upcoming season his personal favourite.

“Season 4… Personally, it’s my favourite. More than Seasons 1, 2, and 3. I’m not saying this just to promote it—I genuinely feel it,” he shared.

Without giving away spoilers, the actor hinted at what will define the new season.

“There’s a twist. The essence of Panchayat remains, but this time, we’re playing a lot more. We’re blowing small issues out of proportion—something that naturally happens in North Indian rural life, under the peepal tree, at tea stalls or paan shops. We’ve brought these elements out in a bigger way in Season 4,” he said.

For fans, that means a return to the heart of Panchayat’s charm—rural India’s small-town gossip, community quirks, and understated drama.

Season 3 had ended with a dramatic cliffhanger involving an attack on Phulera’s leadership. Pradhanji was shot, and Abhishek’s dream of cracking the CAT exam was derailed by escalating political tension. The villagers had clashed with goons linked to MLA Chandrakishore, leaving many questions unanswered:

  • Who shot Pradhanji?
  • Was the MLA involved?
  • Will Abhishek crack CAT and make it to IIM?
  • Who will win the Panchayat elections—Manju Devi or Kranti Devi?
  • Will calm return to Phulera, or is more chaos on the horizon?

According to the teaser, Season 4 picks up right where things left off—with Phulera now resembling a full-blown political battleground, complete with rallies, smear campaigns, and fierce competition.

Returning to the screen are Jitendra Kumar as Sachiv Ji, Neena Gupta, Raghubir Yadav, Faisal Malik, Sanvikaa, Durgesh Kumar, Sunita Rajwar, Pankaj Jha, and of course, Chandan Roy.

The series, created by Deepak Kumar Mishra and Chandan Kumar and co-directed by Mishra and Akshat Vijaywargiya, continues to blend satire, rural realism, and emotional warmth—ingredients that have made Panchayat one of India’s most beloved web series.
