Panama City: In a strong show of international solidarity, Panamanian Foreign Minister Javier Martinez Acha on Wednesday condemned the Pahalgam terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir, in which 26 civilians were brutally killed. He emphasized that any country providing safe haven to terrorists should be held accountable.
“We condemn what happened in Kashmir. Any country in the world that serves as a safe haven for terrorists should be condemned,” Acha stated during his meeting with a high-level Indian multi-party parliamentary delegation led by Congress MP Shashi Tharoor.
The Indian delegation, currently on a global outreach mission following the April 22 terror attack in Pahalgam, presented evidence of Pakistani Army officials attending funerals of UN-designated terrorists eliminated in Operation Sindoor. The visuals were shared with the Panamanian government to expose state-sponsored terrorism emanating from Pakistan.
Acha reaffirmed Panama’s strong stance against terrorism:
“We cannot tolerate any kind of terrorism. We cannot tolerate countries sponsoring terrorism. We are a democratic country. India is the largest democracy in the world, which values principles, and we will fight against any kind of terrorism together.”
Support at the Highest Levels
Earlier in the day, the Indian delegation also met President of Panama Jose Raul Mulino at the Presidential House. The meetings reflect Panama’s growing support for India’s global campaign to counter misinformation and press for international accountability on terrorism sponsorship.
