Pakistan Violates Ceasefire Again Across LoC; Cyberattacks On Indian Institutions Also Foiled

In yet another blatant ceasefire violation, the Pakistan Army initiated unprovoked small-arms firing across the Line of Control (LoC) in multiple sectors of Jammu and Kashmir during the intervening night of April 29–30, drawing a swift and proportionate response from the Indian Army, officials said Tuesday.

According to an official statement, Pakistani forces opened fire on Indian forward positions in the Naushera, Sunderbani, and Akhnoor sectors in the Jammu region. This was later followed by firing in Baramulla and Kupwara districts in north Kashmir, as well as the Pargwal sector along the International Border (IB).

“During the night of 29-30 April, Pakistan Army posts initiated unprovoked small-arms fire… Indian Army troops responded swiftly and proportionately,” the Army said in a statement.

This marks the sixth consecutive day of such aggression, starting from the night of April 25-26, following India’s strong response to the terrorist attack in Pahalgam.

Cyber Onslaught: Pakistan-Based Group Tries, Fails to Breach Indian Networks

While the LoC remains volatile, Pakistan-based cyber actors also attempted to target Indian educational and welfare websites in a coordinated campaign of cyber subversion, sources from India’s cybersecurity agencies confirmed.

Operating under the alias “IOK Hacker” (Internet of Khilafah), the adversarial group sought to deface webpages, disrupt services, and harvest personal data. Their targets included:

  • Army Public School (APS) Srinagar and APS Ranikhet – hit with propaganda and DDoS attacks
  • Army Welfare Housing Organisation (AWHO) – targeted for database access
  • Indian Air Force Placement Organisation (IAFPO) – attempted breach thwarted

“India’s layered cybersecurity architecture detected the intrusions in real time and quickly traced their origin to Pakistan,” a senior official said.

No operational or classified networks were compromised, and all affected portals were isolated and restored without damage.

Bigger Picture: Intent Without Capability

Security experts believe this dual-pronged effort—military provocation at the LoC and cyber sabotage—is reflective of Pakistan’s broader strategy to retaliate following diplomatic and military setbacks in the wake of the Pahalgam attack.

However, the Indian Army’s operational readiness and cyber resilience have ensured that such provocations are met with decisive responses and robust countermeasures.

More developments are expected as surveillance continues across sensitive sectors.
