Pahalgam: Family Of Terrorist Calls Him ‘Mujahideen’ After House Demolished In Crackdown Following Pahalgam Attack

Pulwama (Jammu and Kashmir), April 25: In a dramatic escalation of India’s crackdown on terrorism following the deadly Pahalgam attack, security forces on Friday demolished the houses of two Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) terrorists believed to be directly involved in the April 22 massacre.

One of the demolished houses belonged to a terrorist from Tral, Pulwama, while the other was that of Adil Guree, a wanted terrorist from Anantnag.


🔥 Family Calls Tral Terrorist ‘Mujahideen’

In a statement, the sister of the Pulwama terrorist, whose house was reduced to rubble, referred to her brother as a “Mujahideen”, a term commonly used to describe Islamist fighters.

“My one brother is in jail, the other brother is a Mujahideen… We are innocent. They have destroyed our house. We don’t know anything about this,” she said, while alleging that the entire family had been detained by police the previous day.

She described seeing security forces place an explosive device on the house before its demolition.

The second house demolished belonged to Adil Guree, a resident of Guree village in Anantnag, who has emerged as a key accused in the Pahalgam terror attack that claimed 26 lives, mostly tourists.

  • The demolition of the houses comes as part of a larger counter-terror operation ordered after the April 22 massacre at Baisaran meadow, Pahalgam.
  • Indian Army, J&K Police, and CRPF are conducting joint search and destroy missions across South Kashmir.
  • India has declared a host of diplomatic and internal security measures, including:
    • Withholding the Indus Waters Treaty
    • Reducing diplomatic presence with Pakistan
    • Shutting down the Attari Check Post
