Over 40 Bengaluru Schools Receive Bomb Threats, Hours After Similar Scare In Delhi

In a major security scare, at least 40 schools in Bengaluru received bomb threat emails on Friday morning, prompting a swift response from city police and emergency teams. This alarming development comes shortly after nearly 50 schools in Delhi reported similar threats—raising concerns over a coordinated hoax campaign.

As per reports, private schools in key Bengaluru localities such as Rajarajeshwari Nagar, Kengeri, and other surrounding areas were among the institutions targeted. The Bengaluru City Police confirmed that multiple response and search teams have been deployed to all affected schools. Investigations are ongoing.

Earlier in the day, prestigious schools in Delhi including St. Xavier’s (Civil Lines), Richmond Global School (Paschim Vihar), Abhinav Public School (Rohini), and The Sovereign School (Rohini) received threats via email. Friday marks the fourth consecutive day such hoax threats have been sent to schools in the national capital, creating widespread disruption and fear among students, staff, and parents.

The Delhi Police has also launched a probe into the threats and is working in tandem with cybercrime units to trace the source of the emails. Preliminary findings suggest a pattern that may indicate the threats are not credible but meant to cause mass panic.

Law enforcement agencies across both cities are treating the matter with utmost seriousness given the number of institutions affected and the possible psychological impact on children and parents.
