DEHRADUN – An ‘orange’ alert for heavy to very heavy rainfall has been issued for six districts of Uttarakhand for Monday by the meteorological department.
According to the State Emergency Operations Centre, the weather office has also forecast lightning accompanied by strong winds in some areas of Dehradun, Tehri, Pauri, Nainital, Champawat, and Udham Singh Nagar.
The centre announced that letters have been dispatched to the district magistrates of these areas, instructing them to remain on high alert and implement all necessary precautionary measures.
Considering the ‘orange’ alert, Dehradun District Magistrate Savin Bansal has issued an order for all schools and Anganwadi centres, from Classes 1 to 12, to remain closed on Monday.
