Jaipur (Rajasthan), June 23: The Meteorological Centre in Jaipur has issued an orange alert for heavy to very heavy rainfall across several districts in eastern Rajasthan, with warnings of intense weather conditions over the next 24 to 48 hours.
According to Radheshyam Sharma, Director of the Jaipur Meteorological Centre, a cyclonic circulation over western Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh is responsible for driving widespread rain and thunderstorms in the region.
“The cyclonic system is causing moderate to heavy rainfall, with some areas like Baran district reporting up to 190 mm of rain. The impact is expected to persist for the next two to three days, with thunder and intense downpours likely,” said Sharma.
Districts Under Orange Alert
The Kota division, comprising Baran, Kota, Bundi, and Jhalawar, has been placed under an orange alert, indicating potential rainfall of over 200 mm within 24 hours. Authorities have advised residents to remain alert and take precautionary measures.
Meanwhile, moderate to heavy rainfall is also expected in the Jaipur, Udaipur, and Bharatpur divisions.
