Jammu (Jammu and Kashmir) [India], May 21: In a powerful and strategic counteroffensive under Operation Sindoor, the Indian Army launched a swift and calibrated assault on enemy positions along the Line of Control (LoC) in Poonch, Jammu and Kashmir. The operation was described by an Army officer as a “thunderous answer” to enemy provocations.
“Operation Sindoor was our swift and thunderous answer to the enemy’s cowardly provocation. The message is very clear—they fire at us, and we will retaliate with the full fury of the Indian Army,” an officer told.
According to Army officials, the enemy initially failed to engage Indian military posts and then resorted to targeting innocent civilians and sacred religious sites using heavy artillery and unprovoked firing.
“I was the company commander at a forward post and took charge of the situation,” said the officer. “We unleashed all our heavy weapons and came down hard on the enemy. On the night of May 6, every Indian Army weapon echoed together under fire orders, precisely targeting enemy posts.”
The operation made extensive use of advanced surveillance equipment, including drones for real-time intelligence, and drone-jamming and spoofing technologies. These helped in pinpointing enemy gun positions, which were then completely obliterated.
Operation Sindoor also marked a milestone in the deployment of indigenous artillery systems, highlighting the operational effectiveness of Made-in-India defence technologies in real combat scenarios.
Launched on May 7, shortly after the Pahalgam terror attack that claimed the lives of 26 civilians, Operation Sindoor represented a calibrated tri-services response characterised by precision, professionalism, and tactical clarity.
A personnel involved in the operation emphasized the critical role of robust infrastructure, high-level training, and battlefield readiness in the mission’s success along the volatile LoC.
