Reasi (Jammu and Kashmir), February 15: At the 10th Convocation Ceremony of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University (SMVDU) in Reasi, Jammu and Kashmir, Chief Minister Omar Abdullah addressed the graduating students, emphasizing the need for ethical leadership in a rapidly evolving world.
He highlighted the university’s unique association with Mata Vaishno Devi, symbolizing power, wisdom, and emotion, and encouraged graduates to uphold principles and uplift others as they progress.
Abdullah stressed that a degree is more than just a credential; it is a tool to make a significant impact.
He urged entrepreneurs to innovate sustainably, scientists to drive advancements, artists to inspire, and leaders to steer with vision, all while contributing to society.
The Chief Minister also noted that failures are an integral part of success, advising graduates to view them as stepping stones.
Vice-President Jagdeep Dhankhar presided over the ceremony, awarding meritorious students and planting saplings in memory of his late mother.
Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha also attended the event.
